Nashville's Premier FIGHTING GAME Community Night

Thursday Night Throwdown was created with the goal of offering an event where fighting game fans of all levels of skill and interest could come together and play together.

We welcome anyone wanting to be involved in the Middle Tennessee FGC from skilled tournament veterans to new players learning a game to spectators who just enjoy watching esports!

Our top priority is to ensure that we have a high number of games available for guests to play. We are continuously expanding our number of systems and games (that’s what the $5 venue fee goes towards).

We will consistently have setups for our main games available for play. We also feature a large BYOC area where anyone can bring their setup with their favorite game.

Any individual who brings a setup (game + console/pc + monitor) will not need to pay the $5 venue fee.

Keep in mind that this if you plan to play, please do bring a controller to use! There may be controllers available for use, but there is no guarantee of availability.

Every week we offer guaranteed brackets for the following games:

  • Dragonball FighterZ

  • Tekken 7

  • Street Fighter V

  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

We also offer one or two rotating brackets for other games or special events, which are announced each week. Games we regularly host include:

  • Samurai Showdown 2019

  • Mortal Kombat 11

  • Dead or Alive 6

  • Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid

  • Soul Caliber 6

On top of all that, we encourage players to build their own communities! Bring your favorite game and run your own bracket in our BYOC area!

Each bracket costs $5 for entry, with all proceeds going directly into the pot for tournament winnings.

Winners are required to stay on premises until payout have been conducted, or else risk losing their eligibility to collect prize winnings. All payouts are paid out through either cash or PayPal.

The payout ratios will be paid out using the following criteria:

1st: 60%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 10%

It’s not a small thing to pay $5.00 to play some video games after getting in a car and driving across town. We want to make sure this event is worth your while.

Our partnership with the Nashville Technology Council helps by giving access to our great venue but we wanted to do more.

We have sought out sponsors for these events that will allow us to provide free food for all attendees. Who our sponsors are will vary from week to week, and accordingly food options will vary.

We also provide additional concession sales, which will vary from week to week according to availability. Outside food and drink is always allowed, so feel free to bring or order whatever you like!

Want to learn to commentate? We will offer opportunities to commentate streamed matches to attendees. If we have more commentators than we can accommodate we will offer airtime on a first come first served basis, and eventually open up signups ahead of time if necessary.
